Mentor: Mad Society
Mad Society creates a fun-filled summer for individuals who want to explore the genre of modern/hip-hop dance and perform on one of the biggest fiesta in YYC.
Our group was formed almost four years ago for the intention of performing at the first ever Fiesta Filipino. We are consisted of local dancers and singers residing from High River to here in Calgary. Our performances mostly consist of dancing and sometimes singing. We give homage to the Philippines by dancing and singing Tagalog songs. We meet every summer to prepare for the Fiesta Filipino and we also meet throughout the year for any gigs or events alike that we are asked to perform in. Our levels range from beginner to intermediate and we are always striving to have fun whenever we are together. The point of this group is to encourage “shy” youths who have amazing talents and passions to perform for the first time with the help of our senior members.
We dance, we eat, and we perform.
